WhatsApp's new 'Accidental Delete' feature offers users a five-second window to recover messages that they have accidentally deleted in individual or group chats.

WhatsApp has added a feature that allows users to undo the "Delete for Me" action. This can be helpful if you accidentally delete a message that you intended to keep and share with others on the app. The feature can help prevent potential embarrassment from deleting a message only for you.

Sometimes, users may accidentally click the "Delete for Me" button instead of the "Delete for Everyone" button, resulting in the deletion of a message that they meant to keep. This feature is designed to give users a small window of time to undo their mistake and prevent any potential embarrassment or confusion.

According to a report by WhatsApp features tracker WABetaInfo, the messaging app has announced that its new feature will be available for all Android and iPhone users. The feature was previously beta tested with a small group of Android and iOS users in August.

In 2017, WhatsApp introduced the "Delete for Everyone" option, which allows users to recall a message for all participants in a conversation. This feature was created to address the issue of mistakenly sending messages in individual and group chats. Initially, the "Delete for Everyone" option had a time limit of seven minutes, but it was later extended to a maximum of 60 hours in August of this year.
