Tesla presents Model S Plaid track package to reach top speed of 200 MPH

Tesla has launched a new track package for the Model S Plaid, allowing the electric vehicle to finally reach its promised top speed of 200 MPH.

The package includes ceramic brakes, wheels, and tires optimized for track use.

The package is priced at $20,000, for a carbon ceramic brake kit and a wheel and tire set, or $15,000 for the brake kit pachage. Just a wheel and tire package costs at $6,000.

Tesla will make the package available starting in June 2023 via the Tesla app.

The company had previously limited the Model S Plaid's speed to 163 MPH via software, as it wanted to install bigger brakes for better slowing down at high speeds before unlocking the full potential.
