U.S. cybersecurity specialists at NowSecure have identified serious vulnerabilities in the iOS version of the Chinese AI chatbot DeepSeek.

According to their findings, the iPhone app transmits user data with minimal encryption, putting personal information at risk. Additionally, DeepSeek collects a vast amount of data, including biometric information, and stores it without adequate protection.

Experts also discovered that all user data is hosted on ByteDance servers in China, raising concerns over potential data leaks and remote access to user devices.

NowSecure strongly advises iPhone users to delete DeepSeek from their devices. The app’s developers have yet to comment on the situation.
