Google has rolled out a new "preferred sources" feature that lets users customize the news section in Search to match their interests.

With this update, users can select websites and publications whose content will appear more often in the "top stories" section. This feed is generated when searching for information on current events and typically shows articles from a variety of outlets. The new option allows users to highlight their go-to sources so that Google prioritizes them in news results.

To add preferred sources, users simply search for a trending topic, tap the icon next to "top stories," and select the desired websites. There’s no limit to how many sources can be added, and the changes take effect after refreshing the page.

The feature was first tested in June and is now available to users in India and the United States.
