In a presentation slide displaying Tesla's current lineup, including Models S, X, 3, Y, the Tesla Semi, and the Cybertruck, three additional vehicles were shown under wraps.
Obviously we’ve got some new products that we’re working on under the covers,
Musk remarked.
I think these are going to be pretty special.
However, he did not give any details about the new cars. And there are many speculations about what these new models might be.
One is likely the long-anticipated robotaxi, recently renamed "Cybercab" by Musk during an earnings call, with a full reveal expected on August 8th. Observers speculate this vehicle might be the one positioned closest to the Cybertruck on the presentation slide, pairing Tesla's most futuristic vehicles together.
Another possibility is a high-capacity electric van, potentially the more boxy vehicle seen on the slide. This would align with Musk's past hints about Tesla developing "high passenger-density urban transport" and autonomous buses, despite his known skepticism towards public transportation. The recent inclusion of “bus” and “commercial/passenger vans” in Tesla's Master Plan Part 3 as "TBD" suggests that such projects might still be in the works.
The third vehicle remains more mysterious. It could potentially be the refreshed Tesla Roadster or the rumored compact, more affordable “Model 2.” Although Musk had previously been against producing a car cheaper than the Model 3, he has faced significant pressure from investors to commit to cheaper models, hinting at a possible future release.
During the meeting, Musk also addressed shareholder inquiries about a high-volume electric van accommodating up to 13 passengers, humorously adding it to his list of potential projects.
