Telegram Monetisation Methods: First Insights into Premium Subscription

The first rumors that Pavel Durov's messenger was working on paid features appeared at the end of April. This is not Telegram's first monetization method, as in November 2021, the messenger launched an advertising platform.

Revenue gained from running ads on the platform has allowed Telegram to continue to provide users with free and unlimited service. Six months later, on May 1, the Telegram Premium interface was discovered in the beta version of the iOS application.

Paid reactions
With the help of a test server in the beta version of the messenger for iOS, we were able to unlock more reactions.

The editors of Telegram Info were the first to pay attention to this function ofTelegram Premium subscription.  At the time of writing the feature is not available.

Paid stickers
Another premium feature that the messenger is preparing to launch is stickers with full-screen animation.

Developer Alessandro Paluzzi was the first to pay attention to this Telegram Premium subscription feature. It was also discovered by the editors of Telegram Info. As in case of paid reactions, this subscription feature is not currently available.

Paluzzi also discovered that Telegram Premium users will receive a star badge ⭐️ which will be shown to other users in the chat list.
