WhatsApp Beta introduces AI-Powered message editing

The latest WhatsApp beta (version 25.22.10.74) includes a new AI assistant for composing texts, reports WABetaInfo.

The feature is built on Private Processing — an architecture that allows Meta* servers to process requests anonymously without storing messages. Generated texts are deleted from the servers once delivered to the recipient.

On iOS, the Writing Help feature relies on Meta AI rather than Apple Intelligence, since Apple’s AI tools are not available within the messenger.

When the AI assistant suggests text alternatives, the sticker icon next to the input field switches to a pen. Writing Help offers improvements to structure, tone, or clarity before sending.

Available styles include:

• Rephrased
• Supportive
• Proofread

Writing Help is currently limited to the beta version via TestFlight. There’s no word yet on when it will roll out to the public release.
