PS5 has outsold Xbox Series X|S, records reveal

In the latest financial report from Take-Two, it was noted that the total sales volume of next-generation gaming consoles reached 77 million units as of the end of December 2023.

This figure includes both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X|S. According to the provided data, PlayStation 5 sales amounted to over 50 million units, significantly surpassing the sales figures of the Xbox Series, which recorded 27 million units sold. Thus, Sony's console sales are approximately twice as high as those of its Microsoft competitor.

Sales data for the Xbox Series X|S was last updated in June 2023 when Microsoft announced reaching a milestone of 21 million units sold.

The report also highlights the successes in sales of video games published by Take-Two. Grand Theft Auto V continues to demonstrate outstanding results with a total circulation of 195 million copies, and Red Dead Redemption 2 also shows impressive figures with sales of 61 million copies. These indicators underscore the stable demand for the company's key franchises on a global scale.
