Pavel Durov received a UAE passport in February 2021, Forbes writes, citing sources. Durov's Code source, close to Telegram, confirmed this information.

The Emirati passport was the fourth for the entrepreneur - in addition to the UAE, Durov is a citizen of Russia, St. Kitts and Nevis and France. The founder of Telegram has been living in the Arab kingdom since 2017.

According to Forbes' source, Durov uses UAE and French passports for travel and business trips, and "the St. Kitts and Nevis document was only appropriate in the early years after Durov emigrated from Russia."

Pavel has not traveled to Russia or held any assets in that country for eight years. Telegram has no offices or employees in Russia, and the number of users from Russia does not exceed 8%," the source said.

The source specified that despite the expiration of his Russian passport, Durov did not apply for revocation of his Russian citizenship.

By the way, it was in February 2021 that the founder of Telegram met in Dubai with the Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum.
