Meta is testing a new Instagram feature called “Peek” that allows users to share unedited photos that disappear after one view.
According to Meta, the Peek feature is currently in early testing and not yet available to the public. The feature was first identified by app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi.
Unlike Instagram Stories, which last for 24 hours, Peek photos vanish after being viewed once. Screenshots shared by Paluzzi suggest that users can only capture photos in real-time with the camera, with no option to upload from their gallery, and editing or applying filters will not be possible.
The public release of Peek remains uncertain. If Instagram decides to launch it, the feature’s design or name could change before it becomes widely available.
