Google is making it easier to manage large documents with a new feature in Google Docs: tabs.

This update allows users to organize information within a single document, reducing the need for multiple linked files. Tabs and subtabs help break down content, making it simpler to find and access specific sections, especially in longer documents.

Tabs will appear on the left-hand side of the Docs interface, and users can further organize content by adding subtabs. The feature is designed for a wide range of users, from project managers to authors, allowing for easier access to key details like budgets, outlines, and character profiles. Additionally, users can customize tab names with emojis to visually represent their content.

The new tabs feature is gradually rolling out to all Google Workspace and personal Gmail accounts and is expected to be available to everyone within 15 days.
