OpenAI introduces GPT-5.3 Instant

OpenAI has rolled out an update to ChatGPT designed to make conversations with the chatbot feel more natural.

GPT-5.3 Instant delivers more accurate answers and gathers higher-quality information from the internet. The update aims to make everyday conversations more consistently useful and natural.

Developers also worked to reduce situations where a conversation stalls, as well as to minimize excessive disclaimers and overly rigid responses that can disrupt the flow of dialogue.

The new model also performs better when writing "resonant, imaginative, and immersive prose".

The creators of GPT-5.3 Instant note that "there’s more work ahead", including improving the model’s conversational naturalness in languages other than English and refining the tone of its responses to better resemble human speech.

GPT-5.3 Instant is now available to all users and to developers via the API as “gpt-5.3-chat-latest.” Updates for the Thinking and Pro versions are expected soon.

The previous model, GPT-5.2 Instant, will remain available to paid users in the Legacy Models list for three months before being retired on June 3.
