Nothing has introduced its new mid-range smartphones, the Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro, featuring updated displays, new Qualcomm chips, and improved cameras with periscope modules.
The standard model keeps Nothing’s signature transparent design but adds a new rear lighting system called the Glyph Bar. It consists of a strip with seven square segments and 63 brighter mini LEDs. The panel can act as a progress indicator and display lighting effects for notifications and calls.

The Nothing Phone (4a) Pro largely abandons the transparent design, keeping it only around the camera module. Instead, the higher-end model features the pixel-style Glyph Matrix display that debuted last year on the flagship Phone (3).
The Phone (4a) features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2720 × 1224 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate from 30 to 120 Hz. The panel supports 10-bit color, peak brightness up to 4500 nits, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

The Phone (4a) Pro gets a larger 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2800 × 1260 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. Peak brightness reaches 5000 nits. The screen is also protected by Gorilla Glass 7i.
The Phone (4a) runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor (4 nm process, eight cores up to 2.7 GHz) paired with 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage of 128 or 256 GB.
The Phone (4a) Pro offers the more powerful Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor (eight cores up to 2.8 GHz), along with 8 or 12 GB of faster LPDDR5X RAM and the same UFS 3.1 storage options of 128 or 256 GB.
The Phone (4a) features a 50 MP main camera based on the Samsung GN9 sensor with optical stabilization and an f/1.88 lens. It is complemented by a 50 MP periscope module using the Samsung JN5 sensor with 3.5× optical zoom and up to 70× digital zoom, as well as an 8 MP ultra-wide camera with a 120° field of view. The front camera is 32 MP, and the phone supports 4K video recording at 30 fps.

The Phone (4a) Pro uses a 50 MP Sony main sensor with optical stabilization and an f/1.88 aperture. Its periscope module supports digital zoom up to 140×. The ultra-wide camera remains 8 MP, and the front camera is 32 MP. The device also supports 4K video recording.
Both smartphones are equipped with 5080 mAh batteries supporting 50 W fast charging, allowing a full charge in about 64 minutes. They run Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16. The company promises three major Android updates and six years of security patches.
In Europe, the Phone (4a) will start at €349 for the 8/128 GB version and €429 for the 12/256 GB model. For comparison, last year’s Phone (3a) launched at €329 and €379.
The Phone (4a) Pro is also more expensive. The base 8/128 GB version will cost €479, while the 12/256 GB model will be priced at €549. Last year, the Phone (3a) Pro in Europe was offered only in the 12/256 GB configuration for €459.
