Archer Aviation, a US-based company, has teamed up with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) to introduce flying cabs in the UAE by 2026.

With plans to launch air cab services in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Archer Aviation intends to make air transportation as affordable as traditional services by comparing fares to Uber X.

The electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) vehicle, named Midnight, is designed to accommodate four passengers and a pilot. Chief Safety Officer Billy Nolen expressed confidence in achieving mass-scale affordability, stating that the pricing structure would fall in line with the Uber X category once the service reaches widespread adoption.

While specific fare details for the air taxi service are yet to be disclosed, the initial flight routes are expected to connect key locations such as Dubai Airport to the Palm and Abu Dhabi Airport to the city center Corniche, with future plans for a route linking Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Despite potential initial expenses, Midnight promises an eco-friendly travel experience, boasting zero carbon emissions.
