Apple has given the green light for the Epic Games Store to operate on iPhones and iPads in the European Union, according to a Reuters report.

This approval allows the Fortnite developer to introduce its alternative app marketplace in EU countries after submitting it for notarization earlier this week.

Initially, Apple had rejected the Epic Games Store twice this week, citing concerns that the "Install" button and "in-app purchases" labels resembled Apple's own App Store elements too closely. Epic Games argued that these rejections were

arbitrary, obstructive, and in violation of the DMA [Digital Markets Act],

and reported the issue to the European Commission. However, Apple has since approved Epic's previously rejected submission.

This development marks a significant moment in the ongoing legal battle between Epic Games and Apple over the latter's closed App Store ecosystem.
