Apple is shifting its focus towards releasing a more affordable version of its Vision headset, set to launch by the end of 2025, according to The Information.

This new strategy involves pausing the development of a second-generation high-end Vision Pro to prioritize the budget-friendly model.

The new headset is expected to be priced around $1,500, significantly lower than the $3,500 starting price of the Vision Pro, making it more competitive with devices like Meta Quest. This move aligns with Apple's goal to broaden its market reach by offering a more accessible price point similar to high-end iPhones.

Despite recent announcements about expanding Vision Pro availability to eight new countries and previewing new features in visionOS 2, Apple's internal shift indicates a change in strategy. Initially, the Vision lineup was planned to include multiple models, but for now, the focus will be on the more affordable option.
