SpaceX, led by Elon Musk, is now accepting inquiries for space tourism flights scheduled for 2024, offering the public an opportunity to travel to orbit.
On SpaceX's website, interested parties can book flights on two types of spacecraft - Dragon and Starship - to destinations such as the International Space Station, the Moon, Mars and Earth orbit. The earliest these flights are projected to be available is late 2024.
The Dragon capsule, known for its successful missions ferrying NASA astronauts to and from the International Space Station, can accommodate up to seven passengers for Earth orbit trips. Meanwhile, the Starship spacecraft, still undergoing testing, aims to be a fully reusable spacecraft capable of carrying large numbers of passengers and cargo to various destinations, including Earth orbit, the moon, and Mars.
Despite Starship's limited launch history, SpaceX is actively working on its development, with plans for its fourth flight focusing on reentry, as shared by SpaceX President and Chief Operating Officer Gwynne Shotwell.
