Within a day of the Apple Vision Pro's release, a security researcher, Joseph Ravichandran, claims to have discovered a kernel exploit for the device's visionOS.

The exploit, if proven, could potentially open the door to jailbreaking and malware creation on the Apple Vision Pro.

MIT Microarchitectural Security PHD student, Ravichandran shared details and images on Twitter, showcasing the device's reaction to the exploit attempt, including a full passthrough view and a subsequent warning to remove the headset before an automatic restart.

It remains unclear whether the researcher will submit their findings to Apple or if it qualifies for the Apple Security Bounty program. Given Apple's approach to quickly addressing security issues, as well as the increased focus on the launch of Apple Vision Pro, it's likely that Apple will release an update fixing the problem if it's confirmed.
