In a recent update to its App Store policies, Apple now permits U.S. developers to include links to external payment platforms within their apps.

However, Apple still collects a 27% cut for transactions made through external links. Developers can apply for an "entitlement" to enable external payment links but must also offer Apple's in-app purchase system.

The move follows the Supreme Court's decision related to the Epic Games v. Apple case, challenging Apple's anti-steering rules. Epic Games founder Tim Sweeney criticizes the 27% fee and intends to contest Apple's compliance plan in court.
