It looks like the Notepad app in Windows 11 will be getting a much-requested tabs feature.
In a tweet that was quickly deleted, a Microsoft employee accidentally revealed that the Notepad app in Windows 11 will be getting a tabs feature. The tweet, which included a screenshot of Notepad with tabs, was posted by a senior product manager at Microsoft and included the caption "Notepad in Windows 11 now has tabs!", according to Windows Central.
The screenshot also contained a warning stating "Confidential Don't discuss features or take screenshots," indicating that the tabs feature is still in internal testing.
If the tabs feature is implemented, it would be the first built-in app to receive a tabbed interface after Microsoft added tabs to File Explorer earlier this year. The addition of tabs in Notepad could also signal the potential for tabs to be added to other built-in Windows apps in the future.
