Game engine developer Unity is accelerating the rollout of generative AI tools, promising faster production cycles, improved discoverability, and increased advertising revenue for creators.

The company says its AI will “democratize” game development and, in the near future, be capable of bringing entire casual games to life. CEO Matthew Bromberg believes artificial intelligence will expand creative opportunities for both non-programmers and experienced developers.

Speaking at a recent earnings call, Bromberg said Unity is preparing to unveil a new beta version of Unity AI at GDC in March that removes the need for coding altogether. The assistant will operate based on “our unique understanding of the project context and our runtime,” leveraging leading foundation models. Bromberg added that he expects “tens of millions of people” to build interactive entertainment using AI-powered development tools.

"AI-driven authoring is our second major area of focus for 2026," said Matthew Bromberg. "At the Game Developer Conference in March, we'll be unveiling a beta of the new upgraded Unity AI, which will enable developers to prompt full casual games into existence with natural language only, native to our platform—so it's simple to move from prototype to finished product,"

According to the company, the broader ambition is to streamline the creative workflow and build a “universal bridge between the first spark of creativity and a successful, scalable, and enduring digital experience.”
