Yahoo acquires Artifact, AI-powered news startup from Instagram co-founders

In a strategic move aimed at enriching its content offerings, Yahoo has announced the acquisition of Artifact, the AI-powered news app developed by Instagram co-founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger.

Originally intended as a news app, Artifact evolved into a social media platform before deciding to wind down operations. Its AI-driven technology curates personalized news feeds, aligning with Yahoo's goal of delivering trusted content.

Under the agreement, Artifact will cease to exist as a standalone app, with its AI-driven personalization technology set to be seamlessly integrated across Yahoo's platforms in the coming months.
