In response to user demand, Spotify has finally launched its Miniplayer feature for desktop users, offering quick access to playback controls in a floating window.

This long-requested feature allows users to manage audio playback without interrupting their workflow.

The resizable Miniplayer window provides essential playback functions such as changing tracks, selecting playlists, and adjusting volume, all while allowing users to focus on other tasks. Premium subscribers can already access this feature, with a gradual rollout underway.

To activate the Spotify Desktop Miniplayer, users simply click on a square icon located on the far lower right side of the app interface. Upon tapping, a floating window appears next to the main application, providing easy access to playback controls.

This introduction of the Miniplayer potentially eliminates the need for third-party apps (like Alfred Spotify Mini Player, Lofi Spotify Mini Player and SpotMenu) that previously filled this gap in Spotify's service offerings.
