Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg took to Instagram to compare Meta's $500 Quest 3 headset to Apple's Vision Pro, outlining several reasons why he believes Meta's offering surpasses Apple's.

According to Zuckerberg, the Quest 3 excels in various aspects:

  • Cost: The Quest 3 is significantly cheaper than the Vision Pro, priced at 7 times less.
  • Quality: It boasts high-quality passthrough with large screens similar to the Vision Pro.
  • Comfort: The Quest 3 is lighter and more comfortable, weighing 120 grams less and offering a wire-free experience.
  • Performance: It features a wider field of view, brighter screen, and less motion blur compared to the Vision Pro.
  • Features: Precision controllers and hand tracking are available, with Quest's hand tracking system considered more accurate. Its immersive content library also offers deeper experiences, including access to YouTube and Xbox gaming.

The Meta Quest 3, launched in October, features two 2K LCD panels, Qualcomm's Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset, 8GB RAM, and Touch Plus controllers. In contrast, the Apple Vision Pro boasts 4K microLED displays and a separate battery pack, weighing between 600 to 650 grams.
