Apple and Rivos, the Mountain View startup involved in a legal battle with the tech giant over allegations of trade secret theft, have reached a potential settlement, according to court filings.
The agreement, pending approval by the US District Court for the Northern District of California, would allow Apple to conduct a forensic examination of Rivos' systems and activities.
The dispute arose in 2022 when Apple accused Rivos of poaching its employees and stealing proprietary information related to iPhone chip designs. Rivos, in turn, countersued Apple, alleging anti-competitive practices.
While the court dismissed Apple's initial trade secret claims, both parties are now seeking to put the case on hold pending finalization of the settlement by March 15.
