Consumer Electronics Show 2024 standout Rabbit has unveiled a collaboration with Perplexity, integrating the conversational AI-powered answer engine into its $199 Rabbit R1, designed by Teenage Engineering.

Boasting 50,000 preorders, the R1 distinguishes itself by incorporating a built-in search engine that provides "live up-to-date answers without any knowledge cutoff,"unlike traditional large language models (LLMs).

In a live broadcast on Spaces, Rabbit CEO Jesse Lyu and Perplexity co-founder Aravind Srinivas announced that the first 100,000 purchases of the Rabbit R1 will include a one-year subscription to Perplexity Pro, granting access to advanced language models such as GPT-4.

The collaboration aims to enhance the R1's functionality by providing real-time information, combining Perplexity's capabilities with other leading language models working seamlessly behind the scenes.

The R1 features a 2.88-inch touchscreen, a scrolling navigation wheel, and a rotating camera, positioning it as a compact, universal controller for various applications.
