In a recent announcement, Naughty Dog revealed the cancellation of "The Last of Us Online," the multiplayer game set in The Last of Us universe.

Despite initial enthusiasm, the studio opted to abandon the project to prioritize the development of future single-player narrative games. The decision came from the realization that supporting a live service game would divert resources needed for post-launch content, hindering the creation of new single-player titles.

Naughty Dog assures fans that it is actively working on “more than one” big new single-player title.
