Google is officially parting ways with its Google Play Movies & TV, completing the transition it had initiated by moving Android and iOS users to the Google TV app and removing the app from various platforms.

In a recently published support document, Google revealed plans to allow users to continue accessing purchased shows and movies after the retirement of Google Play Movies & TV in January.

As of January 17th, users with a TV or streaming device powered by Android TV can watch their purchased or rented content from the Shop tab within the Google TV app. For those using a cable box or set-top box with Android TV, the transition involves watching or renting content directly from the YouTube app, also starting on the same day.

Additionally, users accessing content through a browser will find YouTube as the designated platform.
