Google Domains, after being acquired by Squarespace earlier this year, has stopped selling new domains as of September 7, 2023.

The transition directs users to purchase domains through Squarespace, with pricing starting at $12/year, matching Google's rates. Existing users can still manage their domains on domains.google.com during a transition period.

Customers affected by the change have the option to take advantage of a WordPress offer for free domain transfers with pricing matched for at least one additional year.

This shift marks a significant step in the transition of Google Domains to Squarespace ownership, which was completed on September 7. While existing customers can continue managing their domains, new domain registrations are now exclusively offered through Squarespace.
