Meta's text-based social media app 'Threads' available for pre-order on App Store

To get access to Threads, those interested must have an existing Instagram account.

The app will be free to download, with potential in-app purchases, similar to its parent platform, Instagram. Although Threads is not yet live, users can secure their copy by pre-ordering, ensuring they'll receive it as soon as it becomes available.

According to the App Store listing, Threads is expected to launch on July 6, creating anticipation among social media enthusiasts.

It's worth noting that this is not the first time Instagram has utilized the name Threads. Previously, Threads was an Instagram companion app that aimed to compete directly with Snapchat. However, it was discontinued in late 2021, making way for the current edition.
