Previously available to select creators and users, Channels now offer a wider reach for content creators and influencers to share one-to-many messages with their fans.

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, made the announcement on his own channel and recommended a few channels that users should check out. These include the International Cricket Council (ICC), director Karen X. Cheng, influencer Michael Le, and artists Daniel Arsham.

By expanding the availability of Channels, Meta aims to provide a platform for creators from various fields to connect with their audiences on a larger scale.

To explore available channels, users can navigate to the DM section of Instagram and find the "Suggested channels" section. Instagram's algorithm suggests channels based on users' interests, interactions with creators, and overall activity on the platform.

Additionally, users can search for specific broadcast channels directly from the DM section.

Meta is currently testing new features and tools to enhance the Channels experience. These include question prompts for followers, a dedicated channels tab in the inbox, and various options for creators to manage their channels effectively.

Some of the upcoming tools for creators include setting an expiration date and time for channels, adding moderators to assist with member management, and sharing links or previews to Stories.
