Creators of image generation model Stable Diffusion will allow artists to exclude their work from AI training database

They will have to do it manually.

Stability AI — the company behind controversial Stable Diffusion 3 model generator — plans to let artists exclude of training. Artists will must register and manually flag matched images in the LAION database.

Company will honor opt-out requests collected on its Have I Been Trained website. Artists should upload their works for system to find it in dataset. Then they could select "Opt-Out This Image" in a pop-up menu. After that, images in the list will receive a mark as opt-out.

Last week, artists started to protest against AI-generated images. Some of them are upset about AI because it generates images that can rival human artists in an unlimited quantity.

Professional artists, on the contrary, believe that it is time to start using the machine for work. In a conversation with Durov's Code, they spoke exclusively about the future use of AI in the art world.
