The features enable users to automatically screen and silence calls from unknown contacts, offering protection against spam, scams, and unwanted callers, and fine-tune privacy settings.

With Silence Unknown Callers, WhatsApp users will no longer be disturbed by calls from unfamiliar numbers, as the calls will not ring on their phones. However, the calls will still appear in the call list, enabling users to review them later if necessary.

Mark Zuckerberg, the Founder and CEO of Meta, expressed the importance of this feature, stating, "You can now automatically silence incoming calls from unknown contacts on WhatsApp for even more privacy and control." This new feature aims to address the growing concerns surrounding unwanted and intrusive calls.

In addition to the "Silence Unknown Callers" feature, WhatsApp has also introduced "Privacy Checkup," which guides users through essential privacy settings. By initiating the checkup in the Privacy settings, users can go through a step-by-step process to strengthen the security of their messages, calls, and personal information.

This approach allows individuals to choose the level of protection that suits their needs, further enhancing their privacy on the platform.

WhatsApp continues to prioritize user privacy and control, offering these new features to empower users in managing their communication experience and ensuring a safer and more secure environment within the app.
