Tesla has released a new version of its Smart Summon feature, named "Actually Smart Summon" (ASS), as part of the 2024.27.20 software update.

Originally introduced in 2019, Smart Summon allowed Tesla vehicles to navigate parking lots autonomously to reach their owner. However, the feature received mixed reviews due to inconsistent performance.

The updated ASS now not only brings the vehicle to the owner's location but also enables it to park itself. Unlike its predecessor, ASS relies on Tesla’s Vision system rather than Ultrasonic Sensors, providing users with a live camera feed.

Initially available for vehicles with HW4/AI4 hardware, ASS is expected to expand to older models in the near future.
