Apple is set to enhance wireless charging on the iPhone 16 lineup with iOS 26, reports MacRumors.
All models in the series will support charging speeds of up to 25W using any Qi 2.2-standard charger. Previously, this performance was limited to Apple’s MagSafe, while third-party Qi chargers were capped at 15W.
The new capability is already available in the latest iOS 26 beta. Accessory maker Belkin has confirmed support, noting that the update enables charging an iPhone to 50% in just 30 minutes.
The change will apply across the entire iPhone 16 range — base, Plus, Pro, and Pro Max, giving users more freedom to use affordable third-party wireless chargers without sacrificing speed.
This update makes wireless charging on iPhone more versatile and convenient, particularly for those who prefer accessories from non-Apple manufacturers.
