A few years ago, Mercedes-Benz launched the VISION EQXX project to improve the efficiency of its electric vehicles. The EV is equipped with a 100 kWh battery pack, which some other models have as well. But only Mercedes EV could cover more than 800 km on a single charge. In April, this range increased to 1,000 km and recently - to 1,200 km.

The new record was set on a trip that started in Stuttgart and ended at the Silverstone race track in the UK. The journey took 14 hours and 30 minutes. In some areas, the EV accelerated to as much as 140 km per hour.

In April, another Mercedes-Benz prototype was able to cover a distance of more than 1,000 km on a single charge, traveling from Germany through the Italian Alps to the south of France.

Interestingly, Mercedes has no plans to mass-produce the Vision EQXX. It will be used primarily for testing new technologies.
