Abu Dhabi has introduced a new taxi booking service through the international ride-hailing app Yango, Abu Dhabi Mobility announced.

The service allows passengers to book public and private taxis, as well as licensed private vehicles, through the app.

In its trial phase, over 300 taxis operated within the emirate, completing more than 8,000 trips over five months. The Yango app now has over 1,500 registered taxis and is available for free on iOS and Android in multiple languages, including Arabic and English.

The app offers a convenient booking process where users can easily specify their destination, with geolocation enabled to quickly locate nearby drivers.

Abdulla Al Marzouqi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Mobility, highlighted that this initiative improves the efficiency of taxi operations and supports the emirate's goal of reducing its carbon footprint by optimizing transport systems.
