Windows 11 overtakes Windows 10 as the top OS for PC gamers on Steam

Windows 11 has become the most popular operating system for PC gaming, surpassing Windows 10 for the first time on Steam.

According to Steam's August hardware survey, Windows 11 now holds 49% of the platform's usage, edging out Windows 10, which dropped to 47%. This marks a significant shift as Windows 11 adoption accelerates, despite initially slower uptake due to strict hardware requirements.

The growth aligns with broader trends, as Windows 11's market share has increased from 23% to nearly 32% over the past year, showing positive momentum for Microsoft's latest OS.
