X is developing a new video conferencing tool called X Conference, as part of its ambition to become an "everything app."

X employee Chris Park shared that the feature is currently being tested internally and offers basic multi-person video calls. Park described X Conference as a strong alternative to existing platforms like Zoom, Google Hangouts, and Microsoft Teams, with upcoming enhancements like speaker pinning and better notifications.

Despite the internal hype, including a fire emoji from Elon Musk, it remains unclear if there’s any external demand for an X-owned video conferencing platform.

The app already supports person-to-person video calls and public broadcasts, though it has faced technical issues during major events. X Conference appears to be another step in the company's venture into corporate-oriented tools, following the introduction of a job search feature last year.
