Reddit to introduce AI-powered search and paid subreddits

Reddit CEO Steve Huffman has hinted at upcoming significant changes to the platform during the company's second earnings call as a public entity.

Huffman announced that Reddit will begin testing AI-powered search result pages later this year to summarize and recommend content, aiming to enhance user experience by helping them discover products, shows, games, and new communities.

The search upgrades, utilizing both first-party and third-party models, are expected to attract new users and potentially generate significant advertising revenue.

In addition, Huffman suggested experimenting with paid subreddits to monetize the new features while ensuring that the free version of Reddit continues to grow.
