Tesla has issued a recall for approximately 3,878 Cybertruck vehicles due to a potential issue with the accelerator pedal, according to a notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The problem arises from the cover of the truck's accelerator pedal becoming dislodged and trapped by the interior rim, leading to the possibility of the vehicle's acceleration getting stuck at full power.

In response to the issue, Tesla has pledged to replace and repair the pedals as needed at no cost to owners. Notices will be sent to affected Cybertruck owners in June, but those who wish to have their vehicles fixed sooner can contact Tesla's customer service.

The recall comes after Cybertruck deliveries were halted recently, reportedly due to the same accelerator issue. Tesla had previously warned buyers of potential delays and recalls, following an earnings call where the company disclosed a year-over-year drop in deliveries for the first time since 2020.
