The "Audiobooks Access Tier," initially available only in the US, provides users with 15 hours of audiobook content per month for $10.

Subscribers gain access to Spotify's extensive library of over 200,000 titles while retaining the ability to listen to ad-supported music through the platform's free tier.

While the pricing may seem comparable to Spotify's Premium subscription at $11 per month, the Audiobooks Access Tier targets a specific audience interested primarily in audiobooks.

Audiobooks typically require between seven to 11 hours to complete, making Spotify's offering a competitive alternative to platforms like Audible, which charges $15 for a single audiobook credit per month. With Spotify's new tier, subscribers could potentially listen to two books per month for $5 less than Audible's offering.

The decision to introduce an audiobook-only subscription follows Spotify's observation of a 45 percent increase in daily searches and interactions with audiobook content since November.
