Apple's Vision Pro headset has garnered substantial pre-order sales, estimated between 160,000 to 180,000 units over the weekend, surpassing initial production expectations.

However, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that despite the strong start, the high-end VR device remains a niche product, emphasizing the challenges Apple may face in sustaining demand. Kuo notes unchanged shipping times within the first 48 hours, hinting at potential limited demand beyond early enthusiasts.

The Vision Pro, which has a base price of $3,499, is aimed at a specialized market, and its success may depend on Apple's ability to attract broader interest before the global launch, which is expected around WWDC in June.
