In a recent incident on Skyline Boulevard in Palo Alto, California, the Tesla Cybertruck met its first reported accident involving a 2009 Toyota Corolla.
The collision, which occurred around 2:05 PM local time, left the Cybertruck with minor damage after the Corolla allegedly struck an embankment before hitting the electric vehicle.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), preliminary investigation revealed that a Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound on SR-35 when, for unknown reasons, it veered to the right, struck a dirt embankment and re-entered the roadway.
The Corolla then entered the northbound lane and collided with a Cybertrak that was traveling northbound. The driver of the Corolla, a 17-year-old teenager, was not injured, while the driver of the Cybertruck reported a suspected minor injury and refused medical attention.
Despite significant damage to the front of the Corolla, the Cybertruck demonstrated stability and its occupants suffered no apparent serious injuries. This incident has sparked new discussions about the safety of the Cybertruck, emphasizing the robustness of its design in real-world crashes. The investigation is ongoing and further details will be reported as they become available.
