OpenAI is enhancing the ChatGPT Plus experience by introducing new beta features that empower subscribers to do more with the language model.

The update includes the ability to upload files and perform analyses on them, along with multimodal support that simplifies user interactions. These additions bring a taste of the capabilities previously exclusive to ChatGPT Enterprise to individual ChatGPT Plus users.

One of the standout features is the file upload functionality, allowing users to seamlessly work with various types of files. When a file is provided to ChatGPT, it takes a brief moment to process the content before engaging in tasks such as summarizing data, answering questions, or generating data visualizations based on user prompts. This functionality extends beyond text files, enabling users to work with images and other multimedia.

Another notable addition is support for multimodal modes. Users no longer need to manually select modes like "Browse with Bing" from the GPT-4 dropdown menu. Instead, ChatGPT itself will select the appropriate mode depending on the context, simplifying the user experience.

While not all Plus subscribers may have immediate access to these features, they represent a significant step forward in making the AI chatbot even more useful and adaptable to various needs.
