In a post on the new social media app Threads, Mark Zuckerberg has responded to rival Elon Musk, indicating that he is "not holding his breath" over a proposed cage fight.
The exchange between the two tech titans began after Musk revealed his training regimen, prompting Zuckerberg to suggest Aug. 26 as the date for the cage fight.
Despite Zuckerberg's readiness, he noted that Musk has yet to confirm the fight. This cage-fighting challenge came about after their rivalry intensified with the launch of Threads, a new social media platform introduced by Meta in July.
The two billionaires have been jokingly teasing each other, with Musk offering to live stream the fight on his social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), with proceeds going to veterans' charities.
However, there have been doubts about the feasibility of this fight. Musk mentioned that the exact date of the fight has not been determined due to the possible need for surgery to his neck and upper back. In addition, the social media titans exchanged barbs about the choice of platform for broadcasting the fight, indicating a hidden competition between their companies.
While the idea of a cage fight between tech CEOs may seem unconventional, it reflects their keen rivalry and competitive spirit.
