WhatsApp introduces Chat Lock feature for added privacy and security

WhatsApp has introduced a new feature called "Chat Lock" to provide users with an added layer of security for their private conversations.

The feature allows users to lock an individual or group chat behind a folder that can only be accessed by entering a device password or biometric authentication, such as a fingerprint. Once a chat is locked, its contents are automatically hidden in notifications.

This feature is useful for users who share their phones occasionally with family members or friends.

The company is planning to add more options for Chat Lock, including custom passwords for chats and locking for companion devices.

This latest update comes a few weeks after WhatsApp added updates for polls and sharing, including single-vote polls and the ability to forward media with captions.
