The upcoming Windows 11 (25H2) update will include a built-in tool that allows users to remove pre-installed apps with just a few clicks, according to a report from Patch My PC.
The utility — currently labeled Remove Default Microsoft Store packages from the system — lists built-in apps such as Microsoft News, Teams, To Do, Xbox, and others. Even system apps like Camera and Sound Recorder can be removed.
Until now, removing these apps required third-party software or PowerShell commands.
The feature is still a work in progress: some removed apps continue to appear in the Start Menu, although clicking their icons does nothing. The Windows 11 25H2 update is expected to roll out this fall.
