Microsoft has sent Windows 10 users a final warning ahead of the operating system’s end of support.
On October 14, 2025, the last security update will be released, after which devices will stop receiving patches and technical assistance.
The cutoff applies to all editions of Windows 10 version 22H2, including Home, Pro, Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise, as well as earlier LTSB 2015 releases.
Microsoft suggests several options: upgrade to Windows 11 or switch to the Windows 365 cloud service. Those who want to remain on Windows 10 can enroll in the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program. Pricing is set at $30 per year for consumers and $61 for enterprise devices, though home users can access updates at no cost via Microsoft Rewards points or by activating the Windows Backup feature.
For specialized devices, long-term service versions remain available. For instance, Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 will be supported until 2027, while LTSC 2019 extends to 2029. Microsoft notes that full timelines for all editions are available through its Lifecycle Policy service.
