2022 is coming to the end, and someone may wonder - what kind of smartphones are worth buying today?
I could share a list of the latest flagship devices, but instead I’d like to share with you a set of products that have good parameters for quite reasonable prices. The list includes flagships, mid-range devices and cheaper products.
Advantages: screen with adaptive frequency 24-120 Hz, powerful processor, excellent cameras, good autonomy.
The Samsung Galaxy S22+’s design is great, but it's not only the exterior that makes it good. It features truly one of the best screens on the market with a diagonal of 6.6 inches and Full HD + resolution. It is made with Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology with support for HDR10 + and an intelligent algorithm for better color reproduction.
The hardware is also amazing, because with it you can perform absolutely any tasks an average user can imagine without any problems. The Exynos 2200 processor is made using a 4nm technology. It is definitely able to compete with this year's flagship classic - Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
Cameras: 12MP ultrawide, 50MP wide and 10MP telephoto. There is no doubt, the quality of the pictures is great. From landscapes and portraits to night shots, cameras will delight you in all cases. And it’s the same for the autonomy of the device: with a 4500 mAh battery, you can use it all day.
Advantages: screen with adaptive frequency 1-120 Hz, flagship processor, 32 MP front camera, excellent autonomy.
Realme devices are more and more often seen in the hands of passers-by. This is due to the excellent price to quality ratio. And in this case, the device comes with a unique design from Naoto Fukasawa. AMOLED-display LTPO 2.0 here with a diagonal of 6.7 inches and a resolution of 2K. It is a pleasure to work with it and watch videos.
Realme GT2 Pro features the amazing Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. According to reviews, the hardware in the case of realme GT2 Pro turned out to be quite optimized. Of course, you can safely play any top titles on high graphics. And you don’t have to worry about autonomy, because there is a capacious 5000 mAh battery.
But what about the cameras? The main triple comes with modules of 50, 50 and 2 megapixels. One of the lenses is wide angle. There are better offers on the market, but if you rely on what this device can do, then it has no problems with day and night shooting. Anyway, the lack of a telephoto lens is compensated by a very detailed 32 megapixel front camera.
Advantages: 120Hz screen, powerful processor, good cameras, 67W fast charging, decent battery life.
It would be a mistake not to mention the representative of the flagship line, beloved by many, Xiaomi. And the 12X model deserves to be on the list one hundred percent, because this is a story about finding a harmonious balance. A juicy 6.28-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution, as well as a powerful 8-core Snapdragon 870 processor, are not its only advantages.
The device is distinguished by the presence of stereo speakers with support for Dolby Atmos and Harman / Kardon sound. In addition, Hi-Res Audio certification is also installed here. It will definitely be pleasant to listen to music or an alarm signal with it. As for the cameras, I can say that they produce a clear picture.
This is the main module at 50 MP, wide-angle at 13 MP and telephoto macro at 5 MP. True, the reviews show that the 32 megapixel front camera cannot boast of anything special. It is quite ordinary. But the battery will definitely not let you down – the one with a quite good capacity of 4500 mAh can always be quickly charged with a 67 W adapter.
Advantages: screen with adaptive frequency 1-120 Hz, flagship processor, good cameras, excellent autonomy.
This smartphone may surprise with its unique style even without a detailed acquaintance. By the way, three interesting modules are hidden in the camera block that has quite an impressive size. This is the main one at 48 megapixels, telephoto at 8 megapixels and wide-angle at 50 megapixels.
In good lighting conditions, pictures and videos are not embarrassing, but, alas, they are from being top level. But the OnePlus 10 Pro has, objectively, its strengths. For example, the screen. It is AMOLED with a diagonal of 6.7 inches and a resolution of 2K. The brightness of 1300 nits is impressive, featuring the ability to view content without problems even in bright sunlight.
Among other important points: the most powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor will certainly provide games with high graphics, and a battery with an impressive capacity of 5000 mAh will offer a long battery life without recharging. There's also 80W fast charging and... 50W wireless charging!
Advantages: screen with an adaptive frequency of 10-90 Hz, a powerful processor, excellent cameras, good autonomy.
This is a great smartphone, both in terms of features and price. Of course, the Google Pixel 7 has already been released, but its price is higher.
A good 6.4-inch Full HD+ OLED screen that offers a couple of days of battery life with a 4614 mAh battery, as well as average, but not so terrible charging capacities: wired at 30W and wireless at 21W. Nevertheless, the main feature of the model is the 8-core processor of proprietary Google Tensor design.
Compared to previous generations, this SoC (system on a chip) has seen a noticeable increase in power and an emphasis on AI. Well, cameras: 50 MP wide, 12 MP ultra-wide and 8 MP front camera. All are good without a doubt, because not the first year Pixel is famous for stunning photos thanks to a bunch of reliable sensors and improving algorithms.
Of course!
Advantages: bright screen, good hardware, great cameras, stable system, accurate software update guarantee.
You can never have too many Pixels... But I consider this to be the best device in the mid-budget category in 2022. It features the same Google Tensor and the same good neurons with which you can take great photos. There's also a decent 6.1-inch OLED screen with HDR support and a multi-year Android update guarantee. As for disadvantages, I would note only autonomy, the smartphone cannot last more than a working day.
Advantages: 120 Hz screen, decent cameras, balanced hardware, capacious battery.
Poco has always taken a different approach to the design of its devices, and the X4 Pro 5G is no exception. For its money, it can please with a very bright 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution. A set of cameras includes a wide-angle one - all modules give an averagely good picture during the day. The hardware allows you to play at medium graphics settings without losing frames. Judging by the reviews, you can use it without recharge for a couple of days.
Advantages: 120Hz screen.
The smartphone clearly looks expensive and stylish. It's captivating, but what's inside? There is a normal IPS screen, no frills, as well as a Mediatek Helio G96 processor, with which you can play, but not at high graphics settings. Autonomy is high - if you want, then the device will last 2 days. You will find the cameras’ quality great during the day, especially a telephoto camera with an optical 2x zoom.
